Studies also show that having a smile we feel good about is actually important to all of us...
In a recent article on Livestrong.com, writer Harold Sconiers talks about the health benefits of smiling: When you smile, the body has a physiological response, your mood is improved and, as you change your expression, you can even reduce stress and some of its harmful effects.
Think of a social or business setting; we smile more because we want to make a good impression, and we feel good when others smile back at us.
Perhaps the greatest gift that we enjoy from dentistry is helping our patients achieve a confident, healthy smile. Sometimes the change is immediate, such as with dental bonding and whitening, and other times it is over time, such as with planning a makeover with cosmetic porcelain veneers and all-porcelain crowns, or accomplishing a straighter smile with Invisalign®.
There is no greater feeling for us than to observe the happy, self-assured smile of someone that originally came to us that was embarrassed about their teeth and covering their mouth to smile or laugh, or, just did not smile at all.
And, don’t worry! (Worrying causes wrinkles, by the way). Dr. Durden and everyone on our Team is dedicated to helping you work through any obstacles you may face in getting your smile back – because we know the true meaning of “smile potential”, and can’t wait to help you achieve yours!
